Think the traffic is bad now? Can’t get an appointment at the doctors? Just wait.
from Friday’s GetSurrey:
“A section of open land has been sold to a school in Hersham to allow them to create access for a proposed new school and housing.
The land in front of Rydens Enterprise School forms part of Coronation Playing Fields, owned by Elmbridge Borough Council.
A consultation was held enabling people to have their say about the new entrance point off Hersham Road, and some concerns included objections to location of the access and the housing density.
But, at Wednesday’s cabinet meeting, councillors agreed the disposal of part of the open space.
As part of the contract, the council would be paid £2m by the school, with the initial payment of £1.65m on transfer of the residential development site, and £350,000 on occupation of the new school.”
